About Us
BUMU means Unity
Many would assume the Ugandan people are a singular group with an identical culture across the country, this is not the case.
Uganda is a country where over 70 languages are spoken across dozens of ethnic groups and tribes.
Each people and region contains its own unique cultural attributes that have yet to be documented.
BUMU was created in 2013 to bridge the gap between these cultures and unite people throughout Uganda together to share what makes them unique with the world.
The main purpose of BUMU is to explore Ugandan culture not only in Uganda but through all Africa and to the world.
We have a lot of cultural instutitions in our country and we have seen very many people who visit Uganda really enjoy the cultural institutions when they visit.

Introduction
creating a better world, by one step at a time
BUMU Cultural Center is an organization that came into existence in 2013 with a name that one may wonder how and why it is that short. This is a word in one of our local languages in the central part of Uganda. The word “BUMU” in Luganda means unity in English. This name was generated by an individual out of the small group of people that started the cultural center spear headed by Apollo Lwanga. The organization was a dream of a man 15 years ago. He had thought of in the central part of Uganda. The word “BUMU” that is in Luganda means “UNITY” in English. bringing cultural dance groups together and also admired performers from different groups. But this would only be done through sharing ideas which he did.

Our mission is to spread more unity in the cultural sector and develop talent from scratch as we globally grow.
Our objectives are to explore cultures that are different in the country and beyond our borders. There is nothing bad in a candle lighting up another candle. So we shall be encouraging unity amongst other different dance groups. To nature and groom talent in the cultural sector from the lowest level, ages and culture. To create more collaborations and partnerships in the cultural dance group industry. To be a center of entertainment and many services hence creating employment to some of the young people.
Are goals are to create unity amongst different dancing groups that exist and are yet to come. Hence to work together with like-minded brands. With no segregation of political affiliation, religion, tribe, country or culture. To explore cultures that are different in the country and beyond boarders. To empower the community through different forms of activities. To search and value talent more especially for the young people that have been struggling to develop their talent in vain. To represent our country nationally and globally in the times to come.
